Serum Skincare

In today’s world with our fast paced life and external stresses like Pollution, environment, work pressure and MakeUp, it is essential to look after our skin.

It is important to give our skin important nutrients which serve as food for healthy and radiant skin. We do not need to spend hours daily, but if used correctly Skincare Essential Products & supplements could help us achieve and maintain healthy & youthful skin.

Being a Beauty Chemist, the most common question people ask me: What can I do to make my Skin better?

The above question inspired me to start this Series of ‘’Anti-Ageing Essential Skincare’’ and share my knowledge & experience with people who care for their skin.

Ayurveda, explained as The Knowledge of Life, a 5000 year old Holistic Science has always inspired me, so what better place to start with.

I started putting a list together including ancient Herbs going back thousands of years from Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine on one side and latest Actives & Oils on the other side.

One more requirement was the right carriers along with Water to deliver these Herbs, Actives & Oils effectively into the skin.

The challenge was to balance the materials in such a way that the product contains Anti-Ageing Solution in one concentrate.

The concentrate in a form of Serum was ideal.

Anti-Ageing Serum is our First Product in this Series ”Anti-Ageing Essential Skincare”

The list of seven actives ideal for Ant-Ageing Serum you should look out for is:

Centella Asiatica [Gotu Kola]

Centella Asiatica, also called Gotu Kola was mentioned in #Forbes by Melanie in May 2014 as ”Latest Anti-Ageing Skin Breakthrough: An Ancient Herb”.

Melanie stated it as an ancient healing plant making a comeback in the modern science of preventing skin aging. In England, it is known by name Pennywort due to its coin shaped leaves. It was among the earliest treatments for Leprosy.

The herb is listed among Legends of Herbs in Ayurveda for thousands of years. Chinese medicine has listed it among the ‘’Miracle Elixirs of Life’’. In Thailand Centella is drunk as cold beverage and considered a Turn-Back-The-Clock Health Tonic.

Centella or Gotu Kola is rich in amino acids, beta carotene, fatty acids, and numerous potent phytochemicals. Extracts have been found to calm inflammation, speed wound healing, stimulate new cell growth, build collagen, and improve circulation.

Researchers found that Gotu Kola inhibited bacterial growth, fuelled the growth of new skin cells and increased skin “tensile strength” and resilience.

Recent research shows that Centella extract is able to penetrate the skin well enough to be utilized effectively. Gotu kola is also being experimented to treat burns, prevent scars, treat psoriasis, and decrease stretch marks.
